Profusion adds heavyweight talent to help spearhead new Data Academy initiative
- Former CCO of Aston Villa Charlie Wijeratna and ex-CEO of Career Ready Anne Spackman OBE join as non-executive directors of data science company
- Charlie brings 20 years of commercial experience including Commercial Director of the European Games 2015, Tottenham Hotspur and Director of Commercial Negotiations of London 2012
- Anne is an experienced CEO, Board Director and journalist previously serving as Executive Director of The Times Newspaper, Director of Camelot Foundation and Chair of the National Council for One Parent Families
London, UK; 4th March 2020: Data science company Profusion has announced that Charlie Wijeratna and Anne Spackman OBE have joined its board as non-executive directors.
Charlie and Anne will help expand Profusion’s commercial offering, develop its charitable programmes and support its new Data Academy.
The Data Academy, which is due to launch in the summer, is one of the UK’s first year-long academic and business programmes specifically targeted at getting underrepresented groups into data science. It has been developed in partnership with the University of Essex, and will take in 20 students aged 16-24 from minority or low income backgrounds, with further programmes to follow later in the year.
Profusion provides a range of data science and digital marketing services to global companies including HSBC, Kingfisher Group, Coty, and First Direct.
